Training For a Career in CompTIA A Plus Revealed

March 10th, 2010
by Jason Kendall

There are four specialist areas of training in a full CompTIA A+ program; you’re seen as competent at A+ when you’ve gained exams for two of the four areas. Because of this, most colleges only have two of the courses on their syllabus. In reality it’s necessary to have the training for all four areas as industry will be looking for an understanding of each specialist area. You don’t have to complete all 4 certifications, however we’d advise that you study for all four areas.

Passing the A+ exam in isolation will set you up to mend and maintain computers and Macs; ones which are usually not part of a network – essentially the domestic or small business sector.

Perhaps you see yourself as the kind of individual who is involved with a big team – supporting, fixing and maintaining networks, you’ll need to add CompTIA Network+, or consider an MCSA or MCSE with Microsoft to give you a wider knowledge of how networks work.

A subtle way that colleges make more money is through up-front charges for exams then giving it ‘Exam Guarantee’ status. It looks like a good deal, but let’s just examine it more closely:

You’ll pay for it by some means. You can be assured it’s not a freebie – it’s simply been shoe-horned into the price as a whole.

We all want to pass first time. Progressively working through your exams one at a time and paying for them just before taking them makes it far more likely you’ll pass first time – you take it seriously and are mindful of the investment you’ve made.

Does it really add up to pay the training college early for exam fees? Find the best deal you can when you take the exam, rather than pay marked up fees – and sit exams more locally – rather than in some remote place.

Huge profits are netted by some training companies that take the exam money up-front. A number of students don’t take them for various reasons and so they pocket the rest. Amazingly, there are companies around who depend on students not taking their exams – and that’s how they increase their profits.

In addition to this, ‘Exam Guarantees’ often aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. The majority of companies will not pay again for an exam until you’ve completely satisfied them that you’re ready this time.

Spending hundreds or even thousands extra on an ‘Exam Guarantee’ is foolish – when consistent and systematic learning, coupled with quality exam simulation software is what will really see you through.

A question; why might we choose commercial certification instead of traditional academic qualifications obtained from schools, colleges or universities?

Industry now recognises that to cover the necessary commercial skill-sets, official accreditation from the likes of Microsoft, CompTIA, CISCO and Adobe is far more effective and specialised – for much less time and money.

Patently, a necessary degree of associated knowledge needs to be learned, but essential specialised knowledge in the exact job role gives a commercially trained student a distinct advantage.

Assuming a company understands what they’re looking for, then all they have to do is advertise for someone with a specific qualification. The syllabuses are set to meet an exact requirement and do not vary between trainers (like academia frequently can and does).

Finding your first job in the industry sometimes feels easier to handle if you’re supported with a Job Placement Assistance service. Don’t get overly impressed with this service – it isn’t unusual for training companies to overplay it. Ultimately, the massive skills shortage in this country is why employers will be interested in you.

However, don’t leave it until you’ve completed your exams before polishing up your CV. As soon as your training commences, enter details of your study programme and place it on jobsites!

You might not even have taken your exams when you will be offered your first junior support job; yet this isn’t going to happen unless your CV is with employers.

If you’d like to get employment in your home town, then it’s quite likely that a specialist independent regional recruitment consultant or service could serve you better than a national service, for they are much more inclined to be familiar with what’s available near you.

Just be sure that you don’t spend hundreds of hours on your training and studies, only to stop and expect somebody else to secure your first position. Get off your backside and get out there. Invest as much resource into securing your first job as it took to pass the exams.

Doing your bit in revolutionary new technology is as thrilling as it comes. You become one of a team of people creating a future for us all.

Computing technology and dialogue through the internet will noticeably change our lives in the future; remarkably so.

And it’s worth remembering that income in the IT sector across the UK is significantly more than average salaries nationally, so in general you’ll more than likely gain considerably more as an IT specialist, than you could reasonably hope to achieve elsewhere.

It seems there’s no easing up for IT sector increases in Great Britain as a whole. The market sector is still growing hugely, and as we have a skills gap that means we only typically have three IT workers for every four jobs it’s not showing any signs that there’ll be any kind of easing off for years to come.

Radio Flyer Bikes Are Safe For Young Children

March 10th, 2010
by Tina Traver

Radio Flyer company is mostly known for producing the beautiful red wagon for many generations. It does have Radio Flyer Bikes that are geared toward young riders and produces tricycles and smaller bikes with training wheels to little kids every where. What people do not know about this company is that it has a long history and have produced other things that you would never expect a company that makes children’s wagons and bikes to do.

Antonio Pasin immigrated from Venice Italy to Chicago and in 1917 he made wagons in order to save money to open a wood shop. Soon he had so many orders it took over his business and by 1930 his wagons were owned by many children and adults alike. In the next decade when the war broke out production ceased and war supplies were made from the metal that would go into the wagons. The company made blitz cans for about three years. The familiar red wagon was produced in the nineteen fifties and swiftly came home to almost every kid in America.

Radio Flyer products are made with quality materials and they are made to be safe. They may cost a bit more than the inexpensive plastic molded bikes and wagons but they last forever. It is not uncommon to pass down a bike or wagon from kid to kid and even from generation to generation.

Bikes made by Radio Flyer used to be painted only in that well known red and white theme and they always had the little bell on the handlebar and streamers on the handles. Most of the two wheelers have training wheels that are the safest around. These training wheels will not bend or loosen and they will not come off until you want them to. Bikes are strong and have steel construction with chrome fenders and handlebars.

The trikes made by the company have that cute little bell on the handlebar to make sure everyone is out of the way when it is going up the driveway. Trikes made today have been modernized. They can be purchased in the red and white motif but there are now other colors. They can be purchased in pink or in bright red, blue and yellow combinations.

They produce the Fold 2 Go Trike that folds up so it can be transported in any vehicle or store away with a minimum of space. There is an carry handle and a latch that will keep the bike folded and then keeps it safely open when riding. It comes with a red frame, blue seat and yellow fenders but also comes in different shades of pink. This trike is for kids one and a half to three years old. The company has several other different three wheel trikes including one with the big front wheel and two smaller back ones that is made of durable steel. They also make stroller trikes that have pedals but also a handle that Mom or Dad can hold on to and steer.

Radio Flyer also manufactures several two wheel models with training wheels. The Grow ‘N Go Bike will work for a two or three year old that wants a big kid bike. There is an adjustable clamp on this bike that allows it to adjust for the size of the child. There is also the Grow ‘N Go Lights and Sounds Bike which is about as high tech as Radio Flyer gets. There are lights that blink including turn signals and a device that will make a horn sound or play music while the child rides. This bike also can be adjusted to the size of the child and needs AA batteries for the lights and sound. It comes in the primary colors or pink.

Radio Flyer bikes go back only to around 1970 but they were popular then and still popular today. Both the bike and trike models are made for younger children. A 10 inch bike is also available for a child about 4 to 6 as well. The bikes come in the famous red in most cases but now come in bright colors and pink too. Steel is the main ingredient and safety is the main concern of the company. Be aware that all bikes and trikes made by the company do not have brakes. The only way they stop is put the foot down on the ground to slow and stop. If you have a kid that wants to ride fast make sure they have shoes with durable soles. The bikes are only suitable for kids just learning to ride and once they do it is better to get a bike that has brakes.

UK IT Support Training Compared

March 10th, 2010
by Jason Kendall

Nice One! Reading this subject matter proves you must be contemplating your career, and if it’s re-training you’re considering then you’ve already got further than most. It’s a frightening thought that hardly any of us are satisfied and happy at work – but the majority won’t do a thing about it. Why don’t you break free and make a start – think about how you could enjoy Monday mornings.

We’d recommend that prior to beginning a training course, you chat with an expert who has knowledge of the industry and can give you advice. They can look at aspects of your personality and help you find your ideal job to train for:

* Is collaborating with others important to you? Would that be with the same people or with many new people? Perhaps working alone with your own methodology would be more your thing?

* Do you have a preference which market sector you choose to work in? (In this economy, it’s even more crucial to choose carefully.)

* Is this the final time you envisage re-training, and based on that, do you believe this career choice will service that need?

* Will this new qualification allow you to find the work you’re looking for, and stay employable until you wish to retire?

The most significant market sector in the United Kingdom that can satisfy a trainee’s demands is the computer industry, particularly IT. There is a requirement for greater numbers of qualified workers in this sector, just check out any job site and there’ll be a long list. But don’t think it’s full of techie geeks looking at their computerscreens all day long – it’s much more diverse than that. Most of the people in the industry are just like you and me, and they have very interesting and well paid jobs.

Let’s admit it: There really is no such thing as personal job security now; there’s only industry and business security – as any company can drop any single member of staff if it meets the business’ trade needs.

Security only exists now in a rapidly rising market, driven by a shortage of trained workers. These circumstances create just the right environment for a secure marketplace – a more attractive situation all round.

Offering the computing sector for instance, the most recent e-Skills survey brought to light major skills shortages around Great Britain in excess of 26 percent. This shows that for every four jobs that exist in Information Technology (IT), there are only 3 trained people to do them.

Attaining proper commercial IT certification is accordingly a quick route to realise a life-long as well as enjoyable career.

As the Information Technology market is evolving at the speed it is, it’s unlikely there’s any better sector worth considering for your new career.

Students who consider this area of study often have a very practical outlook on work, and don’t always take well to classrooms, and slogging through piles of books. If you’re thinking this sounds like you, use multimedia, interactive learning, where everything is presented via full motion video.

Where we can get all of our senses involved in our learning, then the results are usually dramatically better.

Start a study-program in which you’ll receive a library of CD or DVD ROM’s – you’ll start with videos of instructor demonstrations, followed by the chance to hone your abilities through virtual lab’s.

It’s wise to view a small selection of training examples before you sign the purchase order. You should expect instructor demonstrations, video tutorials and audio-visual elements backed up by interactive lab’s.

Some companies only have access to just online versions of their training packages; and although this is okay the majority of the time, consider how you’ll deal with it when you don’t have access to the internet or you only get very a very slow connection sometimes. A safer solution is the provision of CD and DVD ROM materials that don’t suffer from these broadband issues.

Being a part of the leading edge of new technology gives you the best job satisfaction ever. Your actions are instrumental in shaping the next few decades.

We’ve only just begun to get a feel for how technology is going to shape our lives. Computers and the Internet will profoundly transform how we view and interact with the rest of the world over the next few years.

Should lifestyle be up there on your goal sheet, then you’ll welcome the news that the usual remuneration for IT employees in general is considerably higher than with most other jobs or industries.

The need for professionally qualified and skilled IT workers is certain for a good while yet, because of the ongoing expansion in IT dependency in commerce and the very large shortage that we still have.

Far too many companies only look at the plaque to hang on your wall, and avoid focusing on what you actually need – which will always be getting the job or career you want. Always start with where you want to get to – don’t make the journey more important than where you want to get to.

It’s a sad fact, but a great many students kick-off study that often sounds marvellous in the syllabus guide, but which gets us a career that doesn’t satisfy. Speak to a selection of university students and you’ll see where we’re coming from.

Get to grips with the income level you aspire to and what level of ambition fits you. This will influence which accreditations will be expected and how much effort you’ll have to give in return.

You’d also need help from someone that can explain the market you’ve chosen, and will be able to provide ‘A typical day in the life of’ synopsis for that career-path. These things are incredibly important because you obviously have to know if this change is right for you.

Comedy Shows Create Family Bonding Time

March 10th, 2010
by Hank Evans

Without a doubt, the television is one of the greatest advancements in technology. Most people these days cannot live without a TV; it has indeed become more of a necessity, especially among the younger generation. It has to be made clear, though, that despite its many benefits, the TV comes without risks as there are quite a lot of TV shows that are not exactly child-friendly. It therefore becomes of utmost importance for the parents to keep a close watch of their children especially when it comes to TV watching.

Watching TV can breed positive values as it enhances cooperation and encourages tolerance and respect. At the same time, however, since watching TV means fewer active moments, it can make one prone to obesity. Aside from that, it can expose kids to violence and drug abuse, cigarette smoking, alcohol drinking, and sex.

It would be nice to watch TV as a family. Pick out a particular day of the week as “TV watching with the entire family” day. Then make sure that you are gathered together on that day. Encourage your kid to choose the shows the whole family will love to watch on that day.

You can’t begin to imagine the tons of shows that the whole family can enjoy. Watching comedy shows is really a fun way to bond together. It makes the children more cooperative, and it promotes a better relationship between parents and children.

Funny films and TV shows that make children laugh helps them tolerate pain for longer periods of time according to the study. Making family movie night special can be accomplished by also making it something for the kids to look forward to.

It really does not matter what kind of shows your children choose. They can watch movies that even grown ups will enjoy. The important thing is that you can be together and laugh together as a family.

Watching a wholesome comedy with your kids and laughing with them teach them to approach life in a more relaxed way and making them feel less stressed out when things get wrong. It also teaches them that having a sense of humor is a powerful tool to your daily mood and emotional state of good health.

Doing things together as a family, even by just watching a comedy show and laughing out loud as one, is a well learned lesson for the kids; learn to laugh, don’t take things so seriously, and lighten up.

Considering CS3 Design Courses Compared

March 9th, 2010
by Jason Kendall

Almost exclusively, Adobe Dreamweaver is the first base for all web designers. It’s reputed to be the most utilised web-development platform globally.

The entire Adobe Web Creative Suite additionally should be studied in-depth. This will educate you in Action Script and Flash, (and more), and will put you on track to gain your Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) or an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) qualification.

To establish yourself as a full web professional however, there are other things to consider. You’ll be required to have knowledge of some programming essentials like PHP, HTML, and MySQL. A working knowledge of E-Commerce and SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) will give your CV some extra credibility and make you more employable.

Don’t put too much store, as a lot of students can, on the training course itself. You’re not training for the sake of training; you should be geared towards the actual job at the end of it. You need to remain focused on where you want to go.

It’s unfortunate, but thousands of new students kick-off study that often sounds amazing in the prospectus, but which provides the end-result of a job that is of no interest at all. Try talking to typical university students for examples.

It’s well worth a long chat to see the expectations of your industry. Which precise certifications you’ll be required to have and how you’ll build your experience level. It’s also worth spending time assessing how far you’d like to go as it will control your selection of exams.

Take guidance from a professional advisor, even if you have to pay – it’s considerably cheaper and safer to find out at the start if a chosen track will suit, rather than find out after 2 years that the job you’ve chosen is not for you and have to return to the start of another program.

Many trainers provide mainly work-books and reference manuals. Learning like this is dull and repetitive and not ideal for studying effectively.

Many studies have proved that long term memory is improved when we receive multi-sensorial input, and we get practically involved in what we’re studying.

Study programs now come via DVD-ROM discs, where your computer becomes the centre of your learning. Using video-streaming, you will be able to see the instructor presenting exactly how to perform the required skill, with some practice time to follow – in a virtual lab environment.

All companies should willingly take you through a few samples of the type of training materials they provide. You should hope for instructor-led videos and interactive areas to practice in.

Purely on-line training should be avoided. You want physical CD/DVD ROM course materials where obtainable, as you need to be able to use them whenever it’s convenient for you – you don’t want to be reliant on your internet connection always being ‘up’ and available.

An effective training course package will also offer accredited exam simulation and preparation packages.

Make sure that the mock exams are not just posing the correct questions on the right subjects, but also asking them in the way that the actual final exam will phrase them. It can really throw some trainees if the phraseology and format is completely different.

You should make sure you test how much you know by doing tests and practice exams prior to taking the real thing.

Can job security truly exist anywhere now? In a marketplace like the UK, with industry changing its mind whenever it suits, there doesn’t seem much chance.

In actuality, security now only emerges through a swiftly increasing market, driven forward by work-skills shortages. It’s this shortage that creates just the right conditions for a higher level of market-security – definitely a more pleasing situation.

The computer industry skills deficit throughout the UK is standing at just over twenty six percent, as reported by a recent e-Skills survey. Essentially, we only have the national capacity to fill 3 out of every 4 jobs in the computer industry.

This distressing notion underpins the validity and need for more commercially trained computer professionals across the country.

In actuality, gaining new qualifications in IT as you progress through the coming years is likely the best career choice you could ever make.

Adobe CS3 Design Study Uncovered

March 9th, 2010
by Jason Kendall

Almost exclusively, Adobe Dreamweaver is the first base for all web designers. It’s reputed to be the most utilised web-development platform globally.

We’d also suggest that you learn all about the complete Adobe Web Creative Suite, including Flash and Action Script, in order to use Dreamweaver as a commercial web-designer. This knowledge can mean later becoming an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) or Adobe Certified Professional (ACP).

An all too common mistake that students everywhere can make is to choose a career based on a course, rather than starting with the end result they want to achieve. Universities have thousands of direction-less students that chose a program because it looked interesting – in place of something that could gain them the career they desired.

It’s unfortunate, but thousands of new students kick-off study that often sounds amazing in the prospectus, but which provides the end-result of a job that is of no interest at all. Try talking to typical university students for examples.

It’s essential to keep your focus on where you want to go, and build your study action-plan from that – don’t do it the other way round. Keep your eyes on your goals and ensure that you’re training for an end-result that’ll reward you for many long and fruitful years.

Take guidance from a professional advisor, even if you have to pay – it’s considerably cheaper and safer to find out at the start if a chosen track will suit, rather than find out after 2 years that the job you’ve chosen is not for you and have to return to the start of another program.

People attracted to this sort of work are usually quite practically-minded, and won’t enjoy sitting at a desk in class, and poring through books and manuals. If you identify with this, go for more modern interactive training, with on-screen demonstrations and labs.

Our ability to remember is increased when multiple senses are involved – learning experts have been saying this for years now.

Study programs now come via DVD-ROM discs, where your computer becomes the centre of your learning. Using video-streaming, you will be able to see the instructor presenting exactly how to perform the required skill, with some practice time to follow – in a virtual lab environment.

It’s imperative to see examples of the study materials provided by the company you’re considering. They have to utilise video, demonstrations and various interactive elements.

Go for CD and DVD ROM based physical training media if possible. This then avoids all the potential pitfalls with broadband outages, failure and signal quality issues etc.

It’s essential to have accredited simulation materials and an exam preparation system as part of your training package.

Sometimes people can get thrown by going through practice questions that aren’t from authorised sources. Often, the terminology in the real exams can be completely unlike un-authorised versions and it’s vital that you know this.

You should make sure you test how much you know by doing tests and practice exams prior to taking the real thing.

Most of us would love to think that our careers will remain secure and our work prospects are protected, but the growing likelihood for most sectors in the UK right now is that the marketplace is far from secure.

It’s possible though to discover market-level security, by probing for areas that have high demand, mixed with a lack of qualified workers.

The computer industry skills deficit throughout the UK is standing at just over twenty six percent, as reported by a recent e-Skills survey. Essentially, we only have the national capacity to fill 3 out of every 4 jobs in the computer industry.

Acquiring the appropriate commercial computer qualification is correspondingly a quick route to a continuing as well as satisfying occupation.

Because the IT sector is evolving at such a speed, it’s unlikely there’s any better market worth looking at for a new career.

Kids Back Packs – How to Choose the Perfect Backpack

March 8th, 2010
by Miranda Xavier

Buying for kids can be difficult for several reasons. Firstly, although their opinion is important is it not always logical or reliable. One day everything will need to be Spiderman based and within twenty four hours it will change to Batman! Secondly, they do no often think of the practicality of their choice.

I have 3 basic rules which I stick by when choosing my kids back packs – so far they have always worked, each time producing something they will wear and I think is suitable.

1. Think About The Colors – Plain back packs are the best. They can be decorated to suit your child’s latest fad, and they can then be changed easily when the trend has moved on. Personalizing a bag with patches, stickers or key rings is a great project for a new bag, and also makes your easy to distinguish. As well as finding a great use for the badges and key rings which they seem to accumulate.

2. Choose The Size Carefully – If you get a bag which is too small your child will feel short changed compared to their friends. Small back packs also cause valuable work to be damaged on the way to or from school and this can lead to serious tears. Equally a bag which is too big will get too heavy and your child will whine all the way home or until you succumb and carry it for them!

3. Cost – It is important not to spend too much money on a bag. Firstly, it may get lost. Secondly, once they are in school, bags get so battered that they will need a new one each year. They will also have different requirements each year.

In a perfect world I would also suggest that you only bought washable bags – unfortunately these are very hard to find, so if you go, congratulations, but don’t worry too much about this requirement.

One last word of advice, it may be best if your child doesn’t come shopping with you. If you take your kid to the shop there is a chance that they will see something you don’t think is suitable and the whole thing will turn into a nightmare. Buying it in advance and then giving it as a gift for achieving something may be more successful.

Good luck and happy shopping.
